Gault Energy & Stone’s year-long “150 Years of Community” celebration includes:

“Call for Memories” Campaign
On the occasion of Gault Energy & Stone’s 100th Anniversary in 1963, the company received scores of congratulatory telegrams, letters, cards and notes from individuals and companies who shared personal memories of their experience with the company. These keepsake memories have become a treasured part of the Gault Family Archive. Inspired by this outpouring of support, the company is putting a modern spin on this time-honored tradition with an online “Call for Memories” campaign. Beginning in March, Gault Energy & Stone customers and employees, trade partners, family friends, and residents, young and old, as well as non-profit organizations that have benefitted from the company’s—and the family’s— support, will be invited to share their memories via an online “Call for Memories” form. The company will be showcasing a wide selection of these memories on its 150th Anniversary website,  at the Westport Historical Society exhibit this summer, and will be including a sampling of them in a commemorative booklet due out this summer.

“Acts of Community” Campaign
Building on the company’s 150-year tradition of supporting the communities it serves, this year, Gault Energy & Stone will launch a number of new and meaningful “Acts of Community” initiatives. Partnering with other area businesses and non-profits, the “Acts of Community” campaign will honor and support individuals and groups that have become the backbones of our Fairfield County communities: families, teachers, first responders, and others.

Westport Historical Society Exhibit
At the centerpiece of the 150th Anniversary celebration will be a Westport Historical Society (WHS) exhibit showcasing the many artifacts and images that uniquely tell the story of the Gault family and the Town of Westport through the lens of its oldest business. Open from Memorial Day through Labor Day, the exhibit will feature a vast collection of artifacts and historical photos that provide a snapshot of what life was like for hardworking immigrant families, like the Gaults, from 1863 to the present.

Chamber of Commerce Family Business Series
It’s no secret that family businesses, like Gault Energy & Stone, are the engine of our economy and the foundation of communities across America. Since nurturing Fairfield County family businesses makes good economic sense, this fall, Gault Energy & Stone will work with Chambers of Commerce across Fairfield County to offer its family business insights, expertise and lessons learned to their members.

Online Essay Competition: “What’s Next: Energizing the Next 150 Years”
From the company’s early days as a coal supplier to its current energy solutions offerings, including fuel-neutral HVAC equipment, heating oil, biofuel, Propane and electricity, Gault Energy has helped power and warm Fairfield County homes and businesses for generations. This fall, the company will ask Fairfield County teens to share their visions of energy solutions for the future in an online “What’s Next?” essay competition. Entrants will be encouraged to use their imaginations, research possibilities and offer energy solutions that are both realistic and fantastical.
